Happy Monday! Hope your week has started off well. I had a very busy day at the clinic today so it was really nice to come home and immerse myself into something creative. So I have three projects for you today; I have two cards and some favors made with All That Scraps stamps.
This first card is one of my favorites; I haven't had a card that I really liked in a while so it was nice to see this one develop. The set is called
Spring Thing! I love, love, LOVE this set. There's so many elements to it so the possibilities are endless. Cute Easter animals, props and adorable little girls.

SPRING FAVORS!!!
Aren't these favors adorable!? And the best part about them is that you can really make them in "real life" without driving yourself insane!!! So when I say, "Here's a really quick favor I came up with the other night." I actually mean it. I used Wilton brand (Standard Size) Nut and Party Cups. I was able to buy these at Wal-Mart since they carry Wilton products.
Basically I wrapped the outside of the cup using a 1 7/16 inch by 9 inch strip of patterned paper. Then I used the flat clip in the Clip Assortment from Stampin Up. (I don't know what the name of the clip is. What I can tell you that it is not the paper clip or movable clip. It's the one that is flat and shaped almost like a D.) After wrapping the strip of paper around the cup I took the clip and with the open side facing the inside of the cup slid it on. Then, holding on to the clip I turn the solid side up a little. So the open side of the clip is flush with the cup and solid side of the clip is turned up slightly when you are done. The solid side of the clip will hold one dimensional and be the sticking point for your embellished cardstock. Now all you need is to create a little project to stick on it. I wanted to create a favor that tilted slightly so that you can see the stamped image (or whatever you want to put on the cardstock) when you're looking down over it. I suppose you could just tack your embellished cardstock to the front of the cup. There is nothing wrong with that...this is just another choice for you. You can also embellish the cup itself. On the butterfly cup I tried a ribbon on the top and tied a bow in the back. What do you think? I kind of like it simple like the other two.
I'm thinking of doing a video tutorial on this. Do you need one? I want to figure out a way to do this favor without the Stampin Up clips. There are just about 10 or so in the little container maybe less. So this would not be feasible if you were to make a 100 or more. When I figure out something more economical I'll do the video. Travis and I are very anxious to get back to our video roots. The problem with the videos now is that we still have not found royalty free or copy right free music that is actually tolerable for more than 10 seconds. The free songs are free for a reason. There are some sites that sell royalty free music but it costs hundreds of dollars and, frankly, I can't afford to spend that kind of money. We are looking into switching all the videos to Veoh. So far they have not been pulling videos with music. It's a really tough decision. Personally I think regular music on the videos is wonderful and if anything it will spark people's interest and they may go to iTunes and purchase the songs I used in the video. I always give credit to the artist and it is just small time entertainment. All this legal stuff with music is going way over board in my opinion. Gosh, we paid for the music. As long as we don't sell the music I think we have the right to do what we want with it within reason. Sorry, I'm venting. It's just frustrating. I get so many emails asking me where's the videos. It's depressing knowing that I'm stuck in this corner. You Tube pulled my videos, not me. They sent me emails that I'm breaking the law by using a certain artists song and they will press charges if I try and repost it. Anyhoo, sorry about the rant. I'll stop now. If any of you know some good royalty free music let me know where it is. I'll give you guys the heads up when we start switching all the video's over to Veoh.

I love mushrooms! So
Mushroom Friends is the perfect set for me! This is just a simple card, but cute...because of the adorable mushroom and bunny peeking out. I also did the background again with the Copic air brush thing-a-ma-jig. I'm also planning on doing a tutorial on using the air brush system, but, like I said, I really have no idea what I'm doing. But you guys seem to think I have a "clue". Well I'll find my inner "clue" and channel it so I can teach you the Zen of Copic airbrushing. In all seriousness, I'll do some homework to simplify it for all of us. Sometimes those teaching manuals seem to be written by NASA engineers.
