Aloha and happy, happy new year!!! It's been a long time since my last post and I apologize for that. There are a couple reasons for my absence. The first is that we've been on Kauai for the holidays visiting with Trav's parents. So, obviously, I've been away from my craft desk. I didn't think I needed the break, but apparently I did being that today is the first time, in a couple weeks, I've turned on my computer. The second reason for my lack of posts was due, in part, to some medical issues. To make a long story short, my doctor suggested that I try an anti-depressant for my back pain. I was very skeptical at first, but I'm happy to say that I am almost pain free now. My back has not felt this good in almost five years!!! However, I am dealing with some hefty side effects: I'm terribly sleepy throughout the day, I have mild insomnia, and I can't seem to concentrate on anything for extended periods of time. However, I was prepared to take on all those side effects once I realized that the medication was actually working and it meant that I would be pain free without taking any heavy duty pain killers. My doctor said it may take up to 4 weeks for the side effects to diminish or subside altogether; it's been about three weeks and I do notice the decrease in side effects. I feel like I have a renewed lease on life; it's absolutely wonderful!!! Well enough on that, on to the card, shall we?!
Today is the first day in a countdown of sneak peaks leading up to the January 5th release of new sets from All That Scraps. Today I'll be sneak peaking two sets: Love Sentiments and Wedding. This first card is using the new set, Love Sentiments. This set absolutely rocks!!! The set fulfills all your lovey-dovey needs AND it's incredibly cute and quite passionate all at the same time. I paired the sentiment with December's release, Angels Everywhere.
Copics used...
Supplies: Riding Hood Red CS, PTI White CS, Pink Pirouette CS, Riding Hood Red DSP, Parisian Summer DSP, Riding Hood Red Ribbon, Nestibilities, Silver Cord, Mini Library Clips, Corner Punch, Spiral Punch, glitter
This second card is using a set called Wedding by Amy R. I love the wedding dress in this set!!! I stamped the dress on lace paper, cut it out, and glued it to the white background. I think the final product really does look like a wedding dress. The rhinestone belt that I added with Prima Crystals was the final touch in making the dress transform.
Well, mahalo for stopping by. Be sure to check out the other ATS design team member blogs to see what great projects they conjured up for these lovely sets. I have to go outside now and pop some firecrackers to ring in the new year with the family! Lots and lots of hugs for the great new year!!!
