Another Fairy Christmas

Here's a card for Christmas!  This is a card I made for The Cat's Pajamas with the Fairy Christmas set.  I also used Julee's Mojo Monday sketch for this card.  I think this stamp is just absolutely adorable.  How cute is the little puppy!?

Sorry this post is so short, as I am still feeling pretty listless.  I think this is my last card in my "rainy day" pile of cards.  I also have some pretty bad news to share with all of you which is adding crazy stress to my already stressful life.  If you haven't already noticed, I've taken down all my videos that has music in them.  I was informed by YouTube that there are copyright issues with the use of a couple of the songs I used in 2 particular videos.  We decided to play it safe and take them ALL down for this reason.  Better safe than sorry.  I was under the impression that since I was not selling the videos I could use the songs.  Wrong!  So Travis will be slowly replacing the music to all the videos.  We will have to find copyright free music to use with the videos first.  This also means, sadly, that there will be no Aloha Friday introductions to any of my videos.  Travis is in the process of trying to contact the producers of the song so we can continue to use it in the beginning of my videos.  It's a long-shot, but I think it will be worth it.  I've gotten many emails and comments on your love for this particular song, however, you can always buy the Aloha Friday song on iTunes. Part of the stress is that uploading videos takes on average of 2-3 hours.  I'm not sure if it's a Hawaii thing?  Let's see, 43 videos times 2 hours is just way too much time; it will be a project none the less.  I totally understand their point, whoever "they' are.  The heartbreaking part is that I loved those videos and they were my labors of love.  Much of the appeal was in the upbeat, oldies songs... *sigh* So until Travis and I figure out how to proceed Aloha Friday is indefinitely suspended.  My apologies... 

Around The Corner

Happy Wednesday!  Sorry I've been away for so long, but I've been battling a pretty nasty cold.  Hmmmm, let's see... Was it sitting in the pouring rain for two and a half quarters of Saturday's football game?  Or is it the horrendous vog (volcano fog) that is blanketing the islands?  I think it was a combination of both and not being entirely over my cold that I had recently.  It was a strange cold; I was drained and tired with the addition of nasty allergies from the vog.  But I feel much better today, so much so that I finally got to craft.  The last time I was in my craft room was 5 days ago, so it was really nice to smell rubbah again. Needless to say, I'm very, very behind on many of my deadlines.  I haven't missed any, but I will have to work my tush off not to be late.  I know you gals and one guy will inspire me to plug on as you always do for me.  Just reading your nice comments makes my day; it's so flattering to me that you would take the time out of your busy days to write such inspiring words.  I look forward to reading your thoughts every morning when I wake up.  So with that said, let's get on with it!

So I have an OPPS!  I got this sketch from our design team chat room and did my card following it closely.  After I completed the card, Travis took a picture and added my watermarks so I could post it.  I went to Leigh's blog to copy her URL, when I noticed that my sketch was only part of the entire sketch.  Agggghhh.  

So here is my card using just part of the sketch...hahaha.  It is what it is.  Regardless, I think it came out cute using my unintentional partial sketch!  I used the set Fright Night.

Here is my second card using some ultra-cute bats from a  Treehouse Stamps set called Creepy Crawly.

Copics Used...

The inside is really fun!  I used clear fishing line to "float" my third bat on the inside of my card.  All I did was make two slits on both sides of the card.  I threaded the fishing line through the tiny slits and used tape to adhere the bat to the fishing line.  

I used tape on the outside to secure the fishing line.  You can hide the tape easily with panels of paper or embellishments.  

Hope you like both of the cards.  Halloween is right around the corner so I really wanted to share these with you!  Anyhoot, It feels really good to be back and blogging again!  Thanks for understanding my absence.  This is not my first, but it definitely won't be my last since the babies started preschool.  My little monsters are the perfect vectors for buggies!  I'll try my best to stay healthy enough to continue to share my work with you.

Magnolia Is Sweet!

It's Aloha Friday!  Woohoo!  This Friday could not have come sooner; Travis and I are absolutely drained!  And reinforcements are on it's way.  My mommy-in-law will be flying in this weekend to visit and babysit for the game on Saturday.  I missed the last two football games because I had sick babies to care for.  Finally, this weekend I get to go!!! 

 So where's the video?  Because of my schedule I'll be posting the video over the weekend.  I also filmed a quick ribbon tutorial that I will posting in the upcoming week so look out for that.

Scary Elegance

Today I have a couple cards to share with you.  The first card uses stamps from Treehouse Stamps.  The images from this company are both whimsical and fun.  Aside from these fun stamps, what I love the most about this fairly new company is behind the actual stamps.  A couple of best friends, Ashley and Kristin, decided to follow their creative hearts and build their dreams.  They are wonderful representatives of the phrase, "If you can dream it, you can build it".  And so, Treehouse Stamps was born!

The next card is using stamps from Artful INKables.  I designed this card to fulfill requirements for a Splitcoast Stampers Limited Supplies Challenge # 190 called Single Blue Eye.  The challenge: (1) Use only one sheet of patterned paper.  (If the sheet is double sided, use only one side), (2) Eyelets and Ribbon are your only embellishments.  (3) Use the color Blue on your card.

I used a stipple brush to add color to the Bloomin' Beauties flowers then cut them out with my scissors.  For the flourish from Butterfly Blessings I stippled Blue Bayou in the center and worked my way out with Baja Breeze so the color in the middle would be more intense.  The sentiment is from Basic Salutations.

Happy, happy Wednesday!  I hope your week is going well.  Jordyn is doing much better; she was fever-free for most of the day according to Travis.  If she does well tonight, she'll be able to go to school tomorrow!  Mahalo for all the well wishes you sent for Teagan and Jordyn!  I'd like to think that all the positive energy and thoughts you sent played a part in their recovery!  =)  Mahalo!!!

The card I'm sharing with you today uses a C.C. Designs Stamp I bought from Jen at Little C's.  The illustrator of the C.C. Designs Stamps creates ultra cute critters in my opinion.  The images are also larger than you would anticipate, which is a nice surprise; it allows you to utilize the space on your card or project.  

I decided to use this weeks Splitcoast Stampers Sketch Challenge number 199 for the layout of the card.  This weeks sketch is nice because the host gave you two options: a photo or landscape sketch.
